Volunteer at Amboseli Elephant Conservancy Project.Help protect a threatened population of elephants when you volunteer with our Amboseli Elephant Conservation Project in Kenya. In this unique conservation project, volunteers work closely with an elephant research team and local Maasai tribesmen to monitor the movements and behavior of Kenya’s threatened elephant populations. The elephants of Amboseli in Kenya are the most celebrated wild elephants in the world. Since 1972, close observation by Cynthia Moss and her research team has led to intimate knowledge of these intelligent and complex animals. Location The rural villages of Ol-Choro, Kawavuya, Rongai, Nkabobo, Bondeni, Sonkoro, Tingani, Murtot and Misigio are located just outside the border of Amboseli National Park, in South-Eastern lowlands of Kenya. Loitokitok, the closest town and trading centre, is a 8 hour journey from Mombasa;4 hours from Nairobi and sits on the border between Kenya and Tanzania.
