9 Days A Touch of the Wild Tanzania Safari.

Nairobi/Arusha/Lake Natron/Serengeti N.P/ Lake Victoria/ Ngorongoro Crater N.P and Tarangire N.P
Luxury or Budget camping safaris were originally organized for hunting fraternity and we have adapted this style of safari to cater for people whose interest is in watching or photographing Africa's Wildlife, scenery and people. Tanzania camping is the ideal way for those who like to “rough it” as we provide mostly bivouac pop-up tents for accommodation whereby mattresses are laid on the sewn-in ground sheet. The tents are spacious enough for two people and they have a mesh on each window to keep off insects. All preparations at the camp are made on arrival at the campsite.

Arrive- Arusha Kigongoni Hotel(HB)

Day 1. Upon arrival you will be received by our representative who will then transfer you to the hotel perched in serene beautiful coffee plantation. Dinner and overnight.

Lake Natron Kamakia Camp (HB)

Day 2. Early breakfast and depart to Lake Natron, driving past the expansive Masai plains into the floor of the rift valley at Lake Manyara. Proceed to the shadow of Mt. Oldoinyo Lengai. Arrive and check in time for lunch. After lunch walk along the Ngaresero River to the waterfalls to cool down the hot temperatures. Late afternoon visit the shores of the lake,t he lake is the only regular breeding area in East Africa for the 2.5 million endangered Lesser Flamingoes. As salinity increases, so do the number of cyanobacteria, and the lake can support more nests. These flamingoes, the largest flock in East Africa, gather along saline lakes in the region, where they feed on Spirulina (a blue-green algae with red pigments).

Lake Natron is a safe breeding location for Lesser Flamingoes, because its caustic environment is a barrier against predators trying to reach their nests. Greater Flamingo also breed on the mud flats. Even more amazing than the ability of the flamingoes to live in these conditions is the fact that an endemic species of fish, the alkaline tilapia (Oreochromis alcalicus), thrives in the waters at the edges of the hot spring inlets. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Serengeti N/P Seronera Camp (FB)

Day3 & 4. Early breakfast and then depart to Serengeti late afternoon game drives in the vast Serengeti plain. The term Serengeti means endless plains in Maasai language. In the central plains there are carnivores like leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti. Varied bird species can be seen here including eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Lake Victoria-Speke’s Bay Speke’s Bay Camp(FB)

Day5 &6. After breakfast drive to the shores of Lake Victoria. Speke Bay is located on the south-eastern shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania, East Africa. It is 15 kilometres from the Serengeti National Park .Speke Bay is part of Speke Gulf, named after the famous explorer John Hanning Speke, who, in 1858, discovered Lake Victoria to be the source of the Nile. You will be picked up in a colourful canoe at the Lodge's beach by fishermen and brought to Mwaburugu, their village. You may explore the village on foot before they bring you back, singing their rhythmic melodies while they row.

Your guide tells you about the different methods of fishing, the way of life in the village and the birds you see on the way. This trip is only scheduled mornings, when the lake is calm and the fishermen bring in their overnight catch.

Wonderful panoramas of wide savannah grasslands dotted with open acacia woodland studded with large Baobab trees. The density of game is second only to the crowded Ngorongoro Crater Tarangire is a dry season refuge for many migratory animals (elephants, wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, eland and buffalo), that spend many months of the year outside the park on traditional grazing corridors linking Tarangire with other protected areas.
